The perfect photograph of your guests
There’s a photo that comes out of every event I do. Everyone you brought together, pressed around, and at the moment the impossible lands, every face reacts at once. Eyes wide, jaw slack, heads thrown back, hands over mouths, someone mid-scream, someone reaching for the person next to them. Every person you invited, caught in the same moment, feeling the same thing. I’ve lost count of how many times people have told me it’s their favourite photograph of themselves.

Weddings, Galas and Fundraisers
The hard part at these events is the gap. Guests arrive, take a drink, and stand in twos waiting for something to start. I work that gap three or four people at a time. By the time you stand up to speak, the room is warm, loud, and already having fun.
Launches, Events, Openings and Activations
Events work best when strangers talk to each other. Most won’t, unless you give them a reason to. I give them something they cannot explain, and they spend the next twenty minutes trying to explain it to someone they have just met. Instant ice-breaker.
Private Events and Dinner Parties
People sitting around a table, relaxed, chatting. That is one of my favourite rooms to perform to in the world. We are so close. There is no stage and nowhere to hide.
Just good food, good company and impossibilities happening right under your nose.

What kind of magic do you do?
I perform close-up magic with cards and found objects. Impossible things happen in your hands and right under your nose, generally making you question the reality of what you just saw.
No cheesy kids’ magic. No balloon animals. No giant shiny boxes. No cutting your auntie in half.
This is elevated, elegant and impossibly fun for grown-ups.
Will you come to my event?
Very possibly. I perform at parties, dinners, weddings, work events, community events and other gatherings around Tāmaki Makaurau.
Tell me what you’re planning and where, and we’ll work out what makes sense.
What does it cost?
There’s no one-size-fits-all price. A 45-minute close-up session at a dinner is a different beast from keeping 80 people entertained at a party.
Tell me what you’ve got in mind and I’ll give you a clear quote within 48 hours. Easy.
How many people can you entertain?
That depends on the kind of event and how long you’d like me there. Close-up magic works particularly well for groups where people are mingling, because I can move around the room and create little pockets of magic wherever I go.
For larger groups, we can talk about the best format for keeping everyone involved.
What do you need from us?
Almost nothing. A six-foot trestle table, every venue has one, a linen table cloth and five chairs. I bring the rest: the sign, the cards, the magic. Set me up close to the action but not next to the PA speakers, leave room for two rows of people to stand, and power for a small light is useful if you have it. That’s the whole list.
You provide the people, the space and ideally enough room for everyone to have a good time. I can work in restaurants, homes, venues, offices and some decidedly less glamorous locations.
How do I book you?
Three steps.
- Tell me your date and the details. You’ll get a real answer from me within 48 hours: whether I’m free, and what it’ll cost.
- A small deposit locks your date in my diary. From that moment, I turn away other enquiries for it. November and December dates take a 50% deposit, because they’re the ones everyone wants.
- The balance is due 30 days before your event. After that, you’re done. Nobody handles money on the night.
What if we have to cancel?
Simple, and it depends how far out we are:
- More than 30 days before: you lose the deposit only. Nothing else to pay.
- 30 days or less: the full fee stands. By then I’ve been turning away other bookings for your date, and it can’t be re-sold.
- Need to postpone instead? I’ll move your booking to a new date once, free, if I’m available. Always ask me this first. (Peak November and December dates can’t be moved inside 30 days.)
